Reply to this topic Return to forumSince around two weeks ago, LG has been quite slow. Each page load takes a couple of seconds. Is it just me?
At the end of the page, you have a figure for time to load in ms, mine says:
©LittleGolem –1–
What is yours?
@Caroll: That number measures server-side latency, which is usually a few milliseconds. I'm talking about a significant increase of client-side latency in the past few weeks. It takes more than 5 seconds to load this very page, according to Chrome's dev tools.
This page loaded in 100 ms for me. And I don't have a great connection usually.
A few games (e.g. Tumbleweed and Chess960) use some fancier slower technology than simple html; looking at the page source code,, it seems to be some “flutter build” thing (whatever that is), loaded in a frame.
The main page loads fairly quick for me, but then the frame with the flutter build (or whatever) displays the board only after a longer delay, with some circular progress bar thing rotating for a few seconds first.
Unfortunately, sometimes the board does not load at all for me in Firefox, even after waiting several minutes, so I see no board and cannot do my turn. :(
I tried Chromium for that same game, and the board loaded, but then I could not click on it to make my move. :(
These flutter-implemented games also don't load on an android telephone I tried using.
So I wish these games used the same simpler html like other games I've played here.
(FWIW I exited and restarted Firefox, and then my Tumbleweed board finally loaded OK.)
I tried to access the site through two providers. With one, the download is instantaneous, but the other takes several minutes. But if i activate the “Browsec” extension in the browser, the loading speeds up to normal.
And, yes, this begins in January.
